As an Indian, I know most of you might think of me as an aberrant person writing about WWE, ‘something not of Indian taste’. Though there are no Indian wrestlers in WWE except “The Great Khali” who no longer is a part of it, there are some prominent wrestlers loved by Indians. Of course this list consists of “The Great Khali” but let me make it clear, he doesn’t top the list. Yes you read it right. Here is the top 5 WWE wrestlers most loved by Indians:
John Felix Anthony Cena is an American professional wrestler, rapper and actor signed to WWE, where he is the current WWE United States Champion in his fourth reign. Although he is not an Indian, he ranks 1st in the list. Apart from his tough, cool body and exotic style, he has exquisite looks which makes him most popular among girls and top the list. Nicknamed ‘The Champ’ , John Cena has a motto ‘Never Give Up’. He also has a unique finishing move ‘FU’ now known as ‘Attitude Adjustment’.
Dalip Singh Rana, better known by his ring name The Great Khali, an Indian professional wrestler, actor, and powerlifter, is the only Indian at the WWE. With 7 feet 1 inch height, Khali stands as the tallest fighter of WWE universe. He has named his finishing move as ‘Punjabi Plunge’ which actually is a double-handed chokeslam. Being an Indian and a gigantic wrestler ‘The Great Khali’ ranks 2nd.
Mark William Calaway better known by his ring name The Undertaker, is an American professional wrestler. Well known for The Streak, an unprecedented run of 21 straight victories at WWE’s leading pay-per-view, Wrestlemania , he is regarded as the greatest wrestler ever. He is known for having a high-flying style,which is prodigious and hence he is regarded as the greatest high-flyer of WWE. With a miraculous finishing move named ‘619’ he ranks 4th.
Glenn Thomas Jacobs, better known by his ring name Kane, is an American professional wrestler and actor. He is the half-brother of ‘The Undertaker’ and hence both are regarded as “Brothers of Destruction”. With ‘Chokeslam & ‘Tombstone Pile Diver’ as the finishing moves, he ranks 5th.
