There are two ways to apply baking soda on your face. For facial scrub, add a few drops of lemon juice or water to baking soda, make a paste and apply to the pimple, wash off with warm water in about five minutes and follow up with a moisturiser. Do not leave the paste on for more than a few minutes as it could cause skin dryness. For facial mask, mix equal parts of baking soda with water to form a thick paste. Massage the paste on in slow circular motions for about 2 minutes. Leave the mask for around 15-20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water, pat dry, and moisturise.
Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C, it also acts as an astringent. As it is a citric acid, it helps to exfoliate the skin. It is good for all types of skin. Though it causes a little itching, it helps to reduce inflammation and swelling.
Wash face gently with water and pat dry. Dip a clean swab of cotton in the juice and apply on the pimple before you go to bed and if it stinks, try mixing it first with a bit of yogurt. Another method is to mix a teaspoon of cinnamon powder with a tablespoon of lemon juice, make a paste and apply on the pimple. Leave the paste overnight and wash off in the morning with warm water but this method can cause dryness, irritation and redness to people with sensitive skin.
Orange peel helps to reduce the bacteria and extra oil/dead skin cells which causes clogging up of pores. Orange consist of vitamin C and citric acid which make it a perfect cure for pimples.
Wash your face with water and pat dry. Grind up your orange peels and add a little water to create a paste. Thereafter, apply it to your face. The mask should be firm. Wait for 20-25 minutes and then rinse off completely with water, pat your face dry, and apply a good moisturiser. Another method is to gently rub the orange peel on the affected area. You should use separate orange peels for each pimple, otherwise, there is a high chance of bacterial infection or else dip a cotton ball in orange juice and apply it on the pimples and wash it with cold water.
